(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) - On May 16, 2018 at 4:13 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members received a call of an impaired driver who had a fifteen year old passenger in the vehicle on Prince Edward Walk in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.



Police attended the area and located the vehicle and the female driver. A strong odour of alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from her breath. The vehicle was also supposed to be equipped with an Ignition Interlock Device, and it was not. The female was subsequently arrested and her driver's license suspended. The vehicle was also towed and impounded.



Vicki PAWLUCK, 48 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario was charged with:
Care or Control Over 80 mgs., contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol and Drug), contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CC,
Drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device, contrary to section 41.2(13) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).


The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5, 2018.
