Two Charged After Hot-Boxing Into RIDE

(CITY OF GUELPH) - On Thursday, May 31, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Highway 6, Guelph.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., the driver of a grey crossover SUV entered the RIDE check. While speaking with occupants, officers detected the very strong odour distinct to freshly burnt marihuana and suspected that the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of a controlled substance. Search incident to arrest revealed that one of the passengers was in possession of cocaine. Further investigation revealed that another passenger was currently violating a court ordered curfew.
37-year-old, Kimberly Alishia BEALS of Kitchener was charged with Possession of Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances.
27-year-ol Jereko Geordell GLASGOW of Scarborough was charged with Failing to Comply with a Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code.
They are both scheduled to appear in Guelph court on July 3, 2018.
