Another Driver With Weed Charged At RIDE

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON) - On Sunday, July 1, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Wellington Road 26, south of Belwood. At approximately 10:00 a.m., the driver of a black SUV entered the RIDE check. While speaking with the male driver, officer's detected the odour of fresh marihuana and suspected that he was in possession of a controlled substance. Search incident to arrest revealed that the driver was in possession of marihuana.



30-year-old, Scott John CARVALHO of Brampton was charged with Possession of Marihuana over 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on July 31, 2018.
