Fatality On Private Race Track - Name Released

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) - On July 6, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-St. Thomas Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Central Elgin Fire Service were dispatched to a single motorcycle crash at a private race track located on Sparta Line, Municipality of Central Elgin.



Upon arrival, emergency services located a 32-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to hospital via land ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.



The investigation revealed that the male lost control of the motorcycle shortly after crossing the finish line. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.



The rider has been identified as Bradley SCHAAFSMA of St. Thomas, Ontario.
