Howick Incapable/Unwilling To Maintain Cemeteries & Beg For Donations #CouncilFail

Source: Howick
Date: Wed Jul 11 07:49:58 MST 2018

Fordwich, Gorrie, Wroxeter and Lakelet Cemeteries continue to operate with limited funds earned through the sale of plots and interment fees. Rising costs for grass cutting, tree trimming, signage, monument repairs and road maintenance have a significant strain on funds. We are seeking donations so our cemeteries can remain as a peaceful, tranquil place where families find comfort when visiting their loved ones in their final resting place.

Please consider making or having donations made, in honor of, or in memory of, your loved ones or consider making a bequest to the cemetery of your choice. Please make cheque payable to the Township of Howick, marked for operations with a cemetery specified. All donations will be issued a charitable receipt. Please send donations to Township of Howick, 44816 Harriston Rd, RR 1 Gorrie, ON. Any questions or inquiries, please call 519-335-3208. Thank you for thinking of your local Cemetery!
