(CHATHAM, ON) On July 17, 2018, around 11:45 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Kent Bridge Road.
While speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to detachment for further tests.
Upon further investigation, the male driver, Timothy FISHER, 31-years-old of Bothwell, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:
driving while ability impaired, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
drive motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada; and
disobey portable red light - fail to stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and
drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act, and
operate motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 8, 2018 to answer to the charges.
