(HURON EAST, ON) - A 43-year-old from Huron East is facing an Over 80 charge following a traffic stop that took place near Seaforth earlier this month.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a mini-van travelling northbound on Hensall Road at approximately 30 km/h below the posted 80 km/h speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and upon speaking with the driver it was noted the driver had consumed some alcohol.

A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. The driver was placed under arrest for Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.

Jeremy SOMERVILLE, 43 years of age, from Huron East has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 13, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
