33 Year Old From Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Charged Following Hit And Run - Name Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident following a collision that took place this past weekend on Kinburn Line.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 Huron OPP officers responded to the single vehicle collision on Kinburn Line near Summerhill Road. Upon arrival officers located a heavily damaged, unoccupied pickup truck off the roadway in a creek bed.

Police spoke with witnesses and within the hour officers located the injured driver walking on Huron Road near Seaforth. The driver was subsequently transported to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation ensued which ultimately resulted in police laying charges against the male driver. Robert DALE, 33 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Careless Driving and Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 18, 2018 at Provincial Offences Court in Goderich.
