(SOUTH HURON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are investigating the recent theft of a Buick Enclave that was stolen earlier this week from a Rivers Boulevard residence in Exeter.

The owner of the Buick Enclave reported the vehicle was last accounted for around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Upon waking up the next morning it was quickly discovered the vehicle had been stolen from the laneway sometime overnight.

The stolen vehicle had been left unlocked and with the ignition key inside the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a silver, 4-door, 2012 Buick Enclave with a black leather interior. The vehicle is valued at approximately $12,000 to $15,000.

Remember, thieves like to steal vehicles that are left unattended with the keys in them. What can you do to prevent your vehicle from being stolen?

Always roll up your vehicle's windows, lock the doors and pocket the key
Never leave your running vehicle unattended
When possible, park your vehicle in a secure garage
When parking outside find a well-lit area
Remove your valuables from your vehicle
Call police if you observe suspicious activity

Any person with information regarding this incident should immediately contact Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524-8314.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
