44 Year Old From Listowel Caught Going 135 in an 80 - Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) - On Thursday August 16, 2018 at approximately 7:21 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar and monitoring traffic in the area of Wellington Road 109 and Side Road 15 in Mapleton Township. The officer observed a male driving a yellow vehicle at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit while passing several other vehicles. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.

44-year-old Shawn HENDERSON of Listowel has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on October 3, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
