Dundalk Man Charged With Sexual Assault - Teenage Victim

A 65 year old Dundalk man is charged with sexual assault after an investigation by city police Friday evening. Around 8 p.m. police attended the Fall Fair at Victoria Park after receiving a complaint from a 17 year old girl that she was touched inappropriately by a stranger. The girl alleged that a male came into contact with her at the midway and twice embraced her without her permission and against her wishes. During the lengthy embraces it is alleged the male grabbed her buttock area and rubbed her lower back. The girl also reported that the accused offered her money for sexual favours.

With the description provided from the victim and witnesses police were able to locate and arrest the accused in the midway area of the fairgrounds. The accused was arrested without incident and held in custody for an audio remand hearing due to the seriousness of the allegation. The London court ultimately released the accused on an undertaking given to a Justice.

The accused will appear in Owen Sound court on September 27 th , 2018 to answer to the charges.
