Bancroft OPP Weekly update from September 03, 2018 to September 09, 2018

(BANCROFT, ON) - During the week of September 03, 2018 through to September 09, 2018, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to one hundred and twenty (120) calls for service.



These investigations included multiple 911- Non-emergency call, five (5) alarms, two (2) animal complaints, two (2) assaults, three (3) attempt or threat of suicide, two (2) break and enters, two (2) bail violations, breach of probation, three (3) disturb the peace, four (4) domestic disputes, four (4) drug offences, three (3) family disputes, two (2) frauds, harassment, insecure premise, three (3) landlord tenant problems, mischief, three (3) missing person located, three (3) neighbour disputes, two (2) noise complaints, police assistance, police information, three (3) prevent breach of peace, property related, sexual assault, two (2) sudden deaths, five (5) suspicious persons, eight (8) thefts, two (2) threats, eight (8) traffic complaints, three (3) traffic enforcements, weapons, wires down - possible fire other related calls for service.



Eleven (11) criminal charges were laid during the same period of time regarding the bail violation, domestic assault and threats investigations.



Officers also conducted multiple R.I.D.E. programs throughout the detachment area to check on driver's sobriety.



Officers responded to eight (8) motor vehicle collisions (MVC) where two (2) were involved in striking deer. Another MVC involved an all-terrain vehicle where the driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.



During that same period officers laid multiple Provincial Offence Notices relating to speeding, Drive - Hand-held communication device, Driver fail to wear seat belt properly, Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor, Drive motor vehicle no validation on plate, Follow too closely and other Highway Traffic Act offences.
