Stolen Vehicle Recovered - Joshua GARDENER Charged

(DRYDEN, ON) - On August 16, 2018 at approximately 12:45 p.m. officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located an East bound stolen motor vehicle (pick-up truck) on Highway 17 in Eton Township (West of Dryden). The vehicle was originally stolen from the Kenora area.
Police continued to follow the vehicle and it was located abandoned on McGogy Road in Wainwright Township. The male located a short distance away, was placed under arrest and identified as Joshua GARDENER (36 years of age) of Dryden, Ontario.
GARDENER has been charged with the following offences:
1. Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime - Over $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
3. Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.
4. Fail to Comply with an Undertaking contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.
Josh GARDENER was held in custody and appeared in Bail Court in Sioux Lookout on the 17 September 2018.
