(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are hopeful they will get some tips from the public to help solve a recent break, enter and theft that took place in Goderich.

Sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 a thief entered into the Goderich-Exeter Railway portable office building located on Maitland Road North through an unlocked window. Once inside the office the thief stole a silver Dell Latitude E5470 laptop valued at $1,000.

Investigators noted the thief used a step that was left outside the portable to access into the elevated window. Items such as the step in this case are commonly referred to as crime facilitators by Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) experts.
