5 Year Old Airlifted Following Dirt Bike Incident

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - Today at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious accident involving a dirt bike on Domville Street, Arthur. Initial reports indicated that a 5-year-old had suffered serious injuries when he lost control of and hit a tree while riding a 50 cc dirt bike on private property. He was wearing a helmet when the collision occurred at dusk.
OPP, Fire Rescue Service and Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended the scene. The five-year-old male was transferred to local hospital before being air lifted to a trauma centre.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by Wellington County OPP.
