(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - A 35-year-old man from the Woodstock area is facing criminal charges following an impaired driving crash that took place on Lucknow Line just south of Dungannon earlier this week.

At approximately 8:47 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a two vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a farm tractor that was hauling a gravity bin loaded with beans.

Upon arrival the investigating officer observed a heavily damaged pickup truck had collided with the rear end of the gravity bin trailer. Upon speaking with the uninjured pickup truck driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment. A roadside test was administered and the driver registered a fail. Further investigation led to the investigating officer arresting the driver for Impaired Driving. He was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of his breath to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 35-year-old Travis BAKKER from East Zorra-Tavistock Township has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 19, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for the week. In addition, his driver's licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
