Drug Bust On HWY 21 - GIBSON & WESLEY

(MUNICIPALITY OF SAUGEEN SHORES, ON) - As a result of information received regarding possible drug trafficking to the Saugeen First Nations Territory, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Regional Support Team and the Community Street Crime Unit conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of two London residents.

On March 1, 2019, OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 21 in the Municipality of Saugeen Shores. The two occupants, 34-year old Theresa GIBSON and 38-year old David WESLEY, were arrested and charged with drug related offences. A quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of $3590, various drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cash were seized, as well as the vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Sentra.

Both accused were held for bail hearings on March 2, 2019. They are to return to court in Walkerton on March 13, 2019 to speak to the following charges under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA):
1. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
2. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Hydromorphone)
3. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Oxycodone)
4. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Dilaudid)
5. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Methamphetamine)
