Taxes To Drop 53% In Wingham, Blyth & East-Wawanosh - Dozens Of Volunteers Needed ASAP - Apply At Town Hall Tonight 6PM - Rebate Checks To Be Issued

In a shocking/overdue move North Huron Council unanimously voted to immediately layoff/fire all but two employees, the CAO and Head of Finance. This will save North Huron taxpayers over $7,000,000/year. Taxes on a $200,000 Wingham home will now be $1,458/year, lower in Blyth and E-W.

“After a marathon meeting with our lawyers and accountants we unanimously decided to return to the volunteer model we flourished under pre-amalgamation. We hope all North Huron ratepayers will take this opportunity to rise up and serve and protect our community. These community divisions need to end, and equality and justice must prevail.”

Property tax refund checks will be handed out tonight at Wingham Town Hall starting at 6:00pm, if you don’t show up in person it may be up to 7 weeks before a check will be mailed to all Wingham, Blyth and East-Wawanosh ratepayers. Bring ID and a recent tax bill to expedite your refund.

“Amalgamation with Morris-Turnberry will be inevitable once M-T sees how hyper-efficient we have become. The ball is now in their court.”

There will be zero payouts to town staff thanks to the new laws Doug Ford recently passed to protect the taxpayer. All former NH staff will qualify for an extra 6 months of EI benefits under those same laws.

Council also passed a by-law making all positions on council non-paying, and councillors will no longer be able to claim for mileage to meetings. This is meant “to inspire the volunteer spirit in all North Huronians to step-up and serve our community and build a better place for all, just as council has done”

If you are interested in serving your community and keeping taxes low, please show up at Wingham Town Hall tonight at 6:30 to put your name on the list for any of the following positions and serve your Community.

Volunteers are need for everything from lifeguards, equipment operators, to data entry.

Thank you for considering serving and protecting our community.
