27 Year Old Charged After Passing On Double Line

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On Saturday March 23, 2019 just before 5:00 p.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol in the area of Wellington Road 21 near the Eighth Line West in Centre Wellington Township.
At this time the officer observed a black motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed while attempting to pass several motor vehicles on a solid double line on a bend. The vehicle was observed to successfully pass two of the three motor vehicles while on-coming vehicles were forced to take evasive action by swerving to the right to avoid a head-on collision.
The officer observed the vehicle start to fish-tail and begin to lose control as it moved back into its lane while braking hard to avoid rear-ending the vehicle in front and cutting off the vehicle behind it that it had just passed.
Luke MANN, 27-years-old, of Clearview Township has been charged with Dangerous Driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 26, 2019 to answer to his charge.
