(WEST PERTH, ON) - On April 3, 2019 at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department responded to the scene of a two motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Road 164 and Frances Street, Mitchell.

A short time later, a tractor trailer unit was attempting a southbound turn onto Road 162 from Line 36 and entered the west ditch, rolling the tractor trailer unit.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department responded to that scene as well.

The 59-year-old male driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Heavy tow trucks attended the scene to pull the tractor trailer out of the ditch.

"These types of collisions are preventable. Drivers need to devote the necessary amount of attention to the road and to what is going on around you as you drive. Keep your focus on the road." Perth County OPP Operations Manager Acting Staff Sergeant Jason McTaggart
