(GODERICH, ON) - A 42-year-old from Middlesex Centre is now facing Impaired Driving charges following his arrest in Goderich last week.

A few minutes before 8:00 p.m. on April 12, 2019 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call from a concerned citizen that reported an erratic driver was swerving all over the road travelling southbound on Bluewater Veteran's Highway into Goderich.

Within a half-hour officers located the suspect vehicle parked at a restaurant located on Huron Road in Goderich. Officers woke up the passed out driver and upon speaking with him it was observed that he was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron Detachment for breath tests. The driver complied and supplied two breath samples to the Intoxilizer Technician; both tests were above the legal limit.

He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 13, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
