Fatal Collision Update - Name Of Deceased Released

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On May 26, 2019, at approximately 4:00 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service responded to a fatal collision involving a single motor vehicle on Second Line, Between Wellington Road 7 and Sideroad 6, south of Fergus.

A passenger vehicle left the roadway and collided with a group of trees just west of Sideroad 6. The lone occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Brandon James RINGUETTE 25-years-old of Toronto.

Second Line was closed for approximately 9 hours but has now reopened.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
