35 Year Old Evades Police After Being Tasered

THAMES CENTRE, ON) - On July 23, 2019, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Cromarty Drive, in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
The driver of the motor vehicle then attempted to avoid police by entering a private park. The driver became assaultive towards police and police deployed a conductive energy weapon to gain control of the suspect. The suspect continued to resist and fled from police.
On July 26, 2019, members of the Middlesex County OPP and members of the London Police Service executed a warrant at an address within the City of London.
As a result of the police investigation, Gregory VANALSTINE, 35-year-old of London, Ontario has been charged with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).
Assault a peace officer
Resist peace officer
Dangerous operation; and with,
Operation while prohibited
The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
