Methamphetamine Bust Update - Additional Person Charged

(NORTH PERTH, ON) - On August 28, 2019, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of OPP Grey-Bruce Community Street Crime Unit, and Perth County OPP, seized a large quantity of methamphetamine from a vehicle in the Township of Minto, Wellington County. Offence related property including cash and the involved motor vehicle were also seized.

Aaron WALSH, 33-years-old of the Municipality of North Perth was arrested and charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking methamphetamine and psilocybin. The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford.

On August 29, 2019, OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at addresses on Albert Avenue, Municipality of North Perth, and on Minto Road, Minto Township.

As a result of the execution of the search warrants, quantities of methamphetamine and psilocybin, along with further offence related property and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.

The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $218,000, while the estimated value of the seized offence related property is $49,000.

On the 18th of September, 2019, members of the OPP CSCU from Huron/Perth and Grey/Bruce attended the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as they furthered their investigation. Melissa LUU-TRAN, 32 years-old, of North York was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine.

The accused was transported to the Sebringville Detachment where they were held for a bail hearing on the 19th of September, 2019, in Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford.

Further offence related property was seized during this arrest with an estimated value of $71,000.
