29 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested After Hitting Two Parked Vehicles

(HOWICK, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 29-year-old from Huron East with Impaired Driving following a crash that took place last Thursday in Fordwich.

On October 10, 2019 at approximately 10:25 p.m. Huron OPP officers were dispatched to attend Old Mill Road in Fordwich after a witness reported the accused just drove into two parked cars. Upon arrival officers located the accused standing near his vehicle. He had sustained a minor injury from the collision however his vehicle had sustained extensive damage along with two other vehicles that were parked on the roadway.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was exhibiting sings of impairment through alcohol consumption. Consequently the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. He was then transported to the Teviotdale OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to the Intoxilizer Technician. His tests results were found to be above the legal limit.

Jake BOUGARD, 29 years of age, from Huron East has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Drive Motor Vehicle - No Licence. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 18, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
