(PERTH COUNTY, ON) - Drivers travelling on the roadways continue to exceed posted speed limits. Over this past week, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located three stunt drivers. Stunt driving occurs when a police officer finds a driver driving in excess of fifty (50) kilometres per hour of the posted speed limit.

On November 29, 2019, a driver was located travelling well above the posted speed limit on Perth Road 163, south of Fullarton in the Municipality of West Perth.

Judd WALKER, 19-years-old of West Perth was charged with racing.

On November 29, 2019, a driver was located travelling well above the posted speed limit on Perth Line 34, east of Stratford in the Township of Perth East.

Rico GERUSSI, 67-years-old of Stratford was charged with racing.

On November 30, 2019, a driver was located travelling well above the posted speed limit on Perth Line 36, north of Mitchell in the Municipality of West Perth.

Justine BENNEWIES, 24-years-old of West Perth was charged with racing.

All driver's received licence suspensions, and will appear in court at a later date to speak to the charges. The motor vehicles were towed and impounded.

"Speed is a significant factor in the number of fatalities and the number and severity of the injuries that result from road crashes. It is clear that reduced speeds not only reduce the likelihood of a crash but also reduce the severity of injuries when crashes occur," Inspector Rob Scott, Perth County OPP detachment commander.

Report dangerous driving behaviour immediately to police by calling 1-888-301-1122. In an emergency, pull over and dial 9-1-1.
