(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with a Highway Traffic Act violation of "Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway" following a deadly multi-vehicle crash that took place north of Brussels in early December.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on December 5, 2019, Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and Huron East Fire Department responded to a four-vehicle crash located at the Jamestown Bridge on Brussels Line (Huron County Road #12).

An investigation conducted by members of the Huron OPP Detachment & West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team has determined the defendant failed to yield to a tractor trailer that was travelling southbound on Brussels Line. The tractor-trailer then collided with a bridge and a northbound pickup truck. A northbound sport-utility vehicle then collided with the rear of the pickup truck.

Jamie HILL, 62 years of age, from Sauble Beach died as a result of the crash. He was a passenger in the pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, 21-year-old Liam FLETCHER also from Sauble Beach remains in hospital recovering from his injuries.

Angela CURRIE, 21 years of age, from North Huron has been charged with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway. A court date has been scheduled for March 3, 2020 at Provincial Offences Court in Goderich.
