Fatal Head On Collision

(SOUTHGATE, ON) - On March 11, 2020 at 2:16 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a two vehicle fatal head-on motor vehicle collision on Southgate Sideroad 49 north of Southgate Sideroad 24, Southgate in Grey County.
OPP officers attended and found the 72 year old driver of a (blue) sport utility vehicle deceased at the scene. The 77 year old driver of the other vehicle, a (white) car sustained non-life threatening injured and was transported to hospital. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
OPP Technical Traffic Investigators attended and assisted with the investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours. OPP will not be releasing the identity of the deceased until next of kin are notified.
Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
