41 Year Old Arrested After Stealing Cart Of Groceries

(NORTH PERTH, ON) - Shortly after noon on March 23 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a grocery store located in the Municipality of North Perth when a female stole a full cart of groceries and fled from the store.
Staff at the store noticed the female shopper did not pay for her groceries, but instead proceeded out the exit. She then loaded the groceries into the trunk of a car, and was driven away from the scene. Police were provided with the licence plate of the vehicle and a description of the suspect, and were able to locate the vehicle and suspect shortly after.
Serina Anne RASSMAN, 41, of the Municipality of North Perth, was arrested and charged with:
Theft under $5000 contrary to Section 322(1) of the Criminal Code
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges.
