Pedestrian Succumbs To Injuries - Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) - A collision involving a pedestrian and a tanker truck in the Town of Goderich yesterday morning (11June) has resulted in the death of a Goderich man.

Just after 8:00 a.m. on June 11, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash site located at the intersection of Bayfield Road (Highway 21) and Blake Street East.

The injured pedestrian was airlifted to a regional hospital where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the pedestrian was travelling eastbound on Blake Street East when he entered into the path of a tanker truck that was southbound on Bayfield Road (Highway 21).

The deceased has been identified as Ronald MILLER, 69 years of age from Goderich.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
