No Interlock Device Results In Charge For Melissa MORRISON

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On June 24, 2020 at 12:44 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a westbound (silver) car on Highway 6 & 21, on the Sunset Strip, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
This novice driver has a mandatory condition on their licence that requires them to always have an ignition interlock installed and operational in any motor vehicle that they are operating. There was no interlock device installed in this vehicle.
As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged the driver, Melissa MORRISON, 36 years-of-age from Owen Sound, ON with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, section 320.18(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 20, 2020.
This vehicle was towed and will be impounded for 45 days.
