Drowning In Lake Erie

(CHATHAM, ON) - On July 12, 2020 at approximately 4:07 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the report of a possible drowning in the waters of Lake Erie near Wheatley Provincial Park, Ontario.
A 28 year old male went into the water and appeared to be under water for approximately ten minutes. He was brought out of the water and CPR was conducted. The male was transported to hospital by EMS but pronounced deceased at the hospital.
A name will be released once next of kin is notified.
