8 Year Old Dies Following Collision - 33 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Causing Death Charge - BREE

(MIDDLESEX, ON) On Friday July 17, 2020 at 9:54 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Fire, and Middlesex-London EMS responded to a serious two vehicle collision at the intersection of Egremont Dr. and Hickory Dr. located in the Municipality of Adelaide Metcalfe.

The intersection was closed for several hours as members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) assisted with the investigation.

Four people from one vehicle were transported to hospital by EMS, three with minor injuries and one youth with life threatening injuries.

The youth female passenger later died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. The deceased has been identified as Nihal TOOR - age 8- of London, ON.

During the investigation Police learned that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle had been impaired. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Strathroy OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Alicia VAN BREE -33 years of age- of Strathroy, ON with:

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
CC 320.14(3) Operation causing death.


The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on September 10, 2020 to speak to the charges.
