(PERTH EAST, ON) - One person has been charged with numerous offences after complaints from the public in the Township of Perth East.

Members of the public notified the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of ongoing issues with a vehicle repeatedly speeding on the closed portion of Line 36, in the Township of Perth East. Officers conducted extra patrols in the area, and just after 7:30 p.m. on July 21 2020, an OPP officer located the suspect vehicle.

Upon investigating the driver and the vehicle, it was determined that the vehicle was not insured, nor did it have a muffler. The validation sticker was expired, and the driver was not able to produce their driver's licence.

Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance
Drive on Closed Highway
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
Driver fail to surrender licence
No muffler - motor vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges. The vehicle was towed from the scene at the expense of the owner.
