Hit & Run - Two Arrested

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On October 19, 2020 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124 at Wellington Road 125 in the Town of Erin.

It was reported that an eastbound black sports car collided with a southbound vehicle in the intersection. The two occupants of the sports car fled on foot from the scene however, they were quickly located by responding officers.

Police spoke with the driver and determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Further investigation revealed that the passenger was breaching a condition of a court order.

Ricardo Jermaine CHITYAL, 33-years-old of Brampton, has been charged with;
Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drug
Operation While Impaired - 80 Plus
Failing to Stop at Scene of Accident
Careless Driving

Tyler Deter George KRUM, 39-years-old of Brampton, has been charged with;
Fail to Comply with Recognizance

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on November 24, 2020 to answer to the charges.
