Approximately 11:45 a.m. police were called to the area of Farley Drive and Goodwin Drive. A passerby saw a woman sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. The woman was awakened by the witness, but then immediately fell asleep again.

Officers arrived and observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, including a glass pipe, baggie containing a white substance and tin foil. While speaking to the woman, officers noted signs of impairment including slow movements, poor concentration and difficulty staying awake.

A search of her property revealed baggies of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, as well as an unsealed container of cannabis.

A 25-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired operation, two counts of possessing a controlled substance and having care of a vehicle with cannabis readily available. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her rental car was impounded for seven days. She will appear in court April 5.
