Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 189 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people was arrested and seven were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013169
At 6:55 a.m., police responded to Morning Glory Lane in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon, failing to attend court and two counts of uttering threats.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013186
At 10:03 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself into the police.
The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in January 2024.
The 40-year-old Glencoe man was arrested and released with a new court date. He is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and two counts of using unauthorized plates.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013219
At 1:00 p.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on King Street West, near Robertson Avenue in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant failing to attend court.
The 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: assault, mischief, and failing to attend court.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK24013247
At 3:15 p.m., police responded to Jeffery Street in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, officers located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft.
The 39-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a future court date of April 22, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: theft and possession of stolen property.
Man Arrested on a DNA Warrant CK24013257
At 5:09 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on a man on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The 49-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released unconditionally.
Man Arrested for Criminal Harassment CK24013299
At 3:57 p.m., police began investigating an intimate partner violence investigation in Blenheim. Through investigation officers formed grounds to arrest the man.
At 7:55 p.m., police attended an address on Patteson Avenue in Chatham and located the man.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, failing to comply with an undertaking, criminal harassment and two counts of assault.
Man Arrested for Theft CK24013319
At 11:05 a.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Officers learned the man entered the store, removed items from the shelves and exited without paying. The man was located nearby. The man attempted to flee from custody by pushing the officer.
The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK24013332
On March 25, 2024, at 11:14 a.m., police began a bail violation investigation in Chatham.
The investigation revealed the woman, who was bound by an undertaking with conditions, contacted a man she was prohibited from contacting. The man was also bound by conditions not to communicate with the woman. Officers contacted the woman who agreed to turn herself in upon returning to the area.
On March 26, 2024, at 2:26 a.m., officers responded to Raleigh Street in Chatham after receiving information the woman entered the home of the man. Police attended in the area and quickly located the woman attempting to flee the area.
The 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. The woman currently faces the following charges: two counts of facilitating a breach and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
