Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 193 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eleven person was arrested and eight were on outstanding warrants.

Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013353

At 8:32 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a May 2023 theft investigation.

The 56-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date of April 15, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: three counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Woman Arrested for Break and Enter CK24013356

At 8:49 a.m., police responded to a break and enter on Queen Street in Chatham.

The homeowner was alerted by a smoke alarm and upon investigation discovered a woman cooking in the kitchen. The woman had gathered personal property gathered including blankets and a cooler. The homeowner called 911 and the woman fled the scene. Officers quickly arrived and located the woman on Raleigh Street.

The 24-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with break and enter and theft. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. As a result of the bail hearing, the woman was remanded into custody with a future court appearance of April 2, 2024.

Man Arrested for Weapon Offences CK24013377

At 11:45 a.m., police responded to Emma Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Officers arrived on the scene and located the man. The man was bound by conditions prohibiting him from possessing prohibited and/or restricted weapons for life. Through a search incident to arrest officers found the man in possession of “brass knuckles, which is considered a prohibited weapon as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.

The 27-year-old West Lorne man was arrested and released with a future court date of May 6, 2024. He is currently charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession contrary to an order.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK24013409

At 2:19 p.m., The Ontario Provincial Police contacted the Chatham-Kent Police to advise, as a result of a traffic stop, they had arrested a man on warrants held by CKPS.

The 22-year-old Howard Township man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. The man is currently facing the following charges: public mischief, failing to comply with an undertaking, mischief, assault causing bodily harm, three counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, five counts of uttering threats. As a result, the man was remanded into custody with a future court date of April 3, 2024.

Man Arrested for Theft CK24013416

At 1:50 p.m., police responded to Park Avenue West in Chatham for a theft investigation.

A man was captured via surveillance video stealing a delivery from a residence. The video assisted in the identification of the person.

At 3:01 p.m., the man was located and arrested. The man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaking a Conditional Sentence Order.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK24013424

At 4:21 p.m., while investigating suspicious activity on Grand Avenue East in Chatham, police conducted a traffic stop.

Through investigation, the officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations.

The 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a release order.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013455

At 7:23 p.m., police located the woman on Wellington Street in Chatham.

The woman was arrested and charged in a March 2023 assault investigation where she was required to attend court. When the woman failed to make the court appearance a warrant was issued for her arrest.

The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: assault and failing to attend court.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24013473

At 9:08 p.m., police responded to Grand Avenue West in Chatham for a theft investigation.

Officers arrived and located the woman. Officers confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to bail violations.

The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She currently faces the following charges: failing to comply with a release order, two counts of failing to attend court and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24013500

On March 27, 2024, at 12:28 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Tissiman Avenue in Chatham. It was reported the vehicle had struck a house and drove across a lawn.

Upon arrival, officers believed the man to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. The man was transported to police headquarters for tests.

The 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of April 8, 2024.
