(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) An individual is facing driving and drug-related charges following an investigation into an impaired driving incident in Port Dover.
At approximately 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a sedan near the Port Dover lift bridge on Hamilton Plank Road in Port Dover, Norfolk County. Minor injuries were reported for both drivers.
After assessing the pickup truck drivers sobriety at the roadside, they were taken into custody without incident.
Officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone (Dilaudid) during a search of the vehicle.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 35-year-old Kara PEPPER of Niagara Falls, Ontario:
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs,
Dangerous operation,
Driving while under suspension,
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit,
Possession of a Schedule I substance methamphetamine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance opioid (other than heroin),
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking opioid (other than heroin).
The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.
