(BURFORD, ON) On Friday October 18, 2024, members from the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter at a commercial business on King Street in Burford, County of Brant.
At approximately 4:09 a.m., an unknown suspect forced entry into the business and removed several food items before departing in a dark-coloured Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Brant OPP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.

COLLISION INVESTIGATION LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES
(SCOTLAND, ON) On Friday, October 18, 2024 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Brant County OPP members responded to a single-vehicle collision near the town of Scotland in the County of Brant. It was determined that a vehicle was travelling on Bishopsgate Road when it struck a guardrail. Police located the vehicle, where one person was arrested and transported to the Norfolk County Detachment for testing.
Martin MILLER, 30-years-old of Haldimand, is charged with the following offences:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and
· Resist Peace Officer
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario on November 1, 2024.

VEHICLE SEIZED FOR EXCESSIVE SPEED
(BRANT COUNTY, ON) On Saturday, October 19, 2024 at approximately 4:28 p.m., an officer with the Brant County OPP initiated a traffic stop on Brant Road in the County of Brant. The officer was conducting speed enforcement, when they located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped after travelling 146 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
Police have charged a 25-year-old male from Brantford with the following offences:
· Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed
· Speeding in excess of 50km/h over the speed limit and
· Drive Motor Vehicle – no currently validated permit
The vehicle was impounded at the roadside for 14 days and the individual’s driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days. The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date.
IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED AFTER CONCERNED CITIZEN REPORTS TRAFFIC COMPLAINT
(BRANT COUNTY, ON) A 21-year-old from Cambridge has been arrested after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Detachment members responded to a traffic complaint early Sunday morning in the County of Brant.
On Sunday October 20, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 24 in the County of Brant. The caller observed driving behaviour that caused them to be concerned and contacted police. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Brantford Police Service for testing.
Police have charged 21-year-old Devin RODGRIGUES from Cambridge with the following offences:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and
· Dangerous Operation
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario on November 8, 2024.
