(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has charged an officer in connection with an incident at the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment.

On July 1, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a vehicle was observed driving through the staff parking lot of the Hawkesbury Detachment in what was described as a suspicious manner.

Officers responded as two individuals exited the vehicle. During the interaction, the two individuals suffered injuries which required medical treatment.

The OPP Professional Standards Unit launched an investigation in July 2024 into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Two officers were suspended with pay, under the terms of the Community Safety and Policing Act, while PSU conducted their investigation.

As a result of the investigation, on November 22, 2024, Provincial Constable Alexandre BOLDUC of the Hawkesbury Detachment was charged with two counts of assault.

The officer has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.

The officer has been a member of the OPP for 9 years.

The PSU investigation remains ongoing.

The Professional Standards Unit is part of the OPP’s Office of Professionalism, Respect, Inclusion and Leadership.
