Update on missing person – Donald Hughes
On the 3rd of March, missing person Donald Hughes was located deceased in the city of Belleville.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Kingston.
Police at this time do not believe the death to be suspicious.

Missing Person
Belleville, ON: The Belleville Police Service is investigating a complaint of a missing male. 56-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Donald Hughes was reported missing to Belleville Police after not being seen at his residence on Pearl Street, Belleville, Ontario, for a few days.
Donald Hughes is described as:
5’ 6”
155 lbs
Blue eyes
Salt and pepper short hair
Short facial hair
Unknown clothing

Intoxicated male arrested
On the 4th of March at 2:55pm, members of the Belleville Police Service’s Community Response Unit were operating in the city’s downtown when an intoxicated and belligerent male was located. Upon further investigation, the male, a 61-year-old from Belleville was observed to consume alcohol while surrounded by several discarded empty beer cans. The individual was arrested under the Liquor Licence and Control Act for being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in police custody and released when sober.
Arrested on warrant
On the 4th of March at 2:55pm, members of the Belleville Police Service were on general patrol, when they observed a male known to have a warrant for their arrest. Officers confirmed that 42-year-old Nathan Jacobs of Belleville was currently wanted for failing to attend court. He was taken into custody without incident and was released with a new future court date.
Breach of Probation
On the 5th of March at 12:25am, the Belleville Police Service received a call from a business in the city’s north end advising that a male was causing issues for on-site security and was refusing to leave the property when directed. Upon arrival by officers, the male had left the property but was observed a short distance away now causing issues with motorists. The male was identified as a 62-year-old male from Belleville, who was the subject of numerous calls to the Belleville Police in the previous 12-hours. During the course of the investigation, police confirmed that the male was currently bound by a Probation Order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The male was subsequently arrested and charged with breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
